In March 2016 MetroRehab Hospital launched its’ first “NeuroRehab Clinic”. Patients with neurological conditions can book in to see either of our Rehabilitation Physicians, Dr Helen Redmond or Dr Darren Lee. These physicians complete a comprehensive assessment and provide patients with education on how to manage their condition. In some cases they may recommend an inpatient or day rehabilitation program to assist patients to reach their goals. Botulinum Toxin injections are also offered for patients with muscle tightness (spasticity) as a result of their neurological condition.
Joining them in the clinic is Anna Barlow, the Stroke and Neurological Coordinator with over 14 years experience as a neurological physiotherapist. The team at MetroRehab believe that this truly multidisciplinary approach or “one stop shop” gives the most benefit our patients. The clinic welcomes patients with the following neurological conditions:
• Stroke
• Acquired Brain Injuries
• Parkinson’s Disease
• Multiple Sclerosis
• Motor Neurone Disease
• Spinal Cord Injury (mild to moderate)
• Brain/Spinal Surgery
• Peripheral Neurological Conditions

Dr Helen Redmond states that even many years after neurological injury people have the potential to make quality of life gains through focused multidisciplinary rehabilitation. Dr Lee explains that the focus, multidisciplinary expertise and specialised equipment at MetroRehab that you can’t get elsewhere may make a difference to function and overall quality of life.
