MetroRehab Hospital hosted Mr & Mrs Ross Barnes for a luncheon on World Stroke Day 29 October 2014. Mr Barnes provided staff with a unique insight into stroke by presenting a video journey of his progress from initial diagnosis Xmas 2012, his inpatient rehabilitation stay at MetroRehab and his further recovery since returning home in February 2013.
Mr Barnes is highly motivated and committed to rehabilitation and has continued to make significant functional gains in particular with his arm. His story is inspiring and illustrates how positive outcomes in stroke can be achieved with the right evidence based therapy, support from family and the will to succeed.
