NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation Rehabilitation Education Forum

Anna Barlow (Stroke & Neuro Coordinator) and Tanya Silveira (Music Therapist) presented their poster “Music Therapy: In Tune with Rehabilitation” at the NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation’s Rehabilitation Education Forum at the Kirribilli Club, Lavender Bay on the 17th July 2015. The poster outlines the success of a 6 week music therapy pilot program at MetroRehab Hospital. Feedback from both patients and staff has been overwhelmingly positive and music therapy is now being offered on a permanent basis. Music therapy proved a safe space for patients to express their thoughts and feelings and it encouraged them to consider their rehabilitation phase in a different way. Patients felt more motivated to participate and continue with therapy. Please contact us if you have any questions about our innovative music therapy program.
